This Privacy Policy explains how the Pocket Pit-Lane app (“the App”, “we”, “us”, “our”), published by Dekeract, handles information. By using the App you agree to this policy.

The short version

Pocket Pit-Lane is built to be private by design:

• We do not require an account. There is no sign-up, login, or profile.
• We do not collect personal information that identifies you — no name, email, or account.
• We collect anonymous usage statistics (such as which screens you open) to help improve the App — never linked to who you are.
• Your settings stay on your device (your chosen language, notification preferences, and time zone).
• We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps.

The only data that leaves your device does so to (a) fetch public Formula 1 information from data providers, (b) process an optional donation through your app store or Buy Me a Coffee, and (c) check for configuration/updates via Google Firebase — each described below.

Information stored on your device

To make the App work, we save a small amount of information locally on your device only (using your device's standard app storage). This includes:

• Your selected language.
• Your notification preferences (which reminders are on, and how early).
• Your time-zone preference.
• Small technical markers, such as which results you've already seen (so we don't repeat the "Results Updated" notice), and a cache of recently fetched F1 data so the App works offline.

This information never leaves your device, is not sent to us, and is removed when you uninstall the App.

Information received automatically by third parties

The App fetches live Formula 1 data (schedules, results, standings, statistics) from third-party data providers. Whenever any app requests data over the internet, the provider's servers automatically receive standard technical information such as your IP address and basic device/browser (user-agent) information. This is a normal part of how the internet works and is handled by those providers under their own privacy policies — not by us. We do not attach your identity to these requests, and we do not receive this information.

The data providers are:

• Jolpica-F1 — https://jolpi.ca
• OpenF1 — https://openf1.org

Purchases & donations

The App offers optional ways to support its development — you are never required to pay for anything. These are:

• An in-app donation ("tip jar"), processed by Google Play (on Android) or the Apple App Store / Apple Pay (on iOS).
• A "Buy Me a Coffee" link, which opens the Buy Me a Coffee website in your browser.

In every case, payment is handled entirely by that third party (Google, Apple, or Buy Me a Coffee) under their own privacy policy. We never see or store your card number, billing address, or other payment details — we only receive an anonymous confirmation that a payment completed.

Configuration, updates & anonymous analytics (Google Firebase)

On both the Android and iOS versions of the App, we use Google Firebase (provided by Google) for two things.

First, Firebase Remote Config loads small configuration values — for example, the latest available app version, so we can tell you when an update is available — without needing a full app update.

Second, Google Analytics for Firebase collects anonymous, aggregated usage statistics so we can understand how the App is used and improve it — for example, which screens are opened, which features are tapped, how long a session lasts, and general technical details such as device model, operating-system version, app version, language, and approximate region (derived from your IP address, which we do not store). This data is tied only to a random installation identifier — never to your name, email, or identity — and we have disabled advertising-ID collection and ad personalization, so it is not used to serve ads or to track you across other apps or websites.

All of the above is processed by Google under the Google/Firebase Privacy Policy (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy). You can further limit analytics through your device's privacy settings.

Notifications

The App can schedule local reminders (for example, before a session starts) directly on your device. These are generated and stored on your device and are not sent from an external server. You can turn notifications on or off at any time in the App's settings or your device settings.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
• We do not display third-party advertising.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not require or collect your name, email, phone number, or location (you only contact us by email if you choose to).

Children's privacy

The App is a general-audience sports calendar and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will address it.

Your rights

Because we do not hold personal information about you on our own servers, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. Any data the App stores is on your own device and is cleared by uninstalling the App. For data handled by the third parties listed above (data providers, your app store, Buy Me a Coffee, Google Firebase), please refer to and exercise your rights under their respective privacy policies. You may still contact us with any privacy question at dekeracthypercube@gmail.com.

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have additional rights regarding personal data. Given the App collects no personal data on our side, these mostly do not apply to us, but we are happy to help you direct a request to the correct third party.

Data security

We do not operate servers that store your personal data, which removes an entire category of risk. Data stored on your device is protected by your device's own security. Data in transit to the third-party services above is sent over secure (HTTPS) connections.

International users

The third-party services the App relies on may process technical request data on servers located in other countries. By using the App you understand that such technical data may be processed outside your country, under those providers' policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves (for example, if we add a new service). When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, note it in the App. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Pocket Pit-Lane is an unofficial, independent fan-made app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Formula 1, the FIA, Formula One World Championship Limited, or any team. All Formula 1-related trademarks belong to their respective owners.
